Nadhim Zahawi tweeted a picture of Captain Oates and of all the funny and totally on-point reponses, this one beat all-comers

Sacked Tory party chairman and chancellor for 5 minutes Nadhim Zahawi raised eyebrows (rather than taxes) when he shared this paining of Captain Oates over on Twitter, along with a not entirely cryptic message.

Just in case you need a quick refresher on Captain Lawrence Oates …

‘He was one of five men who died as they tried to return home from Robert Falcon Scott’s ill-fated expedition to the South Pole in 1912.
Capt Oates is remembered because of his act of self-sacrifice, committed because he believed he was slowing the others down.’

And it naturally got people wondering exactly what Zahawi – who isn’t standing for re-election – was trying to get at.
