Sun On Sunday to be ‘mostly pictures’
MURDOCH NEWS: MP Tom Watson has claimed that News International are planning to launch the Sunday edition of the Sun in April, and that it will be ‘mostly pictures’ in order to avoid any troublesome legal or moral problems.
Watson claims a News Corp source told him that Rupert Murdoch has seen the draft designs of the Sunday Sun and that it is made up of ‘mundane office pictures’ along with ‘some random snaps bought from a stock photograph company’.
The Poke has obtained a leaked version of the draft designs and can confirm that the first edition will be devoid of any facts, opinion or real content – and instead will consist of pictures taken inside the Sun On Sunday offices, along with some shots of the car park and a stock photo of an elderly woman eating a banana.
“We want to avoid a costly repeat of the News of the World debacle,” said an anonymous News Corp source.
“So the safest bet legally is to steer clear of anything that could backfire on us, like reporting the news, and instead focus on filling this exciting new paper with deeply forgettable pictures.”
