Aldi to launch broadband service

Technology News: Discount supermarket chain Aldi has joined the broadband price war, after announcing plans to introduce its own discount internet service.

The announcement comes just days after Tesco slashed their cost of “unlimited” internet usage to £2.50 a month. Aldi says their broadband service will be the ‘cheapest in the U.K’ and that there is ‘nothing suspicious about it’.

Technology experts have warned customers to investigate the deal before signing up, as it’s reported the Aldi broadband equipment is an just an empty carboard box with a network cable sticking out of it, a claim which Aldi has branded ‘ridiculous’.

“Aldi broadband uses the most sophisticated technology available. It’s clearly so cutting edge that none of these so-called ‘experts’ have ever heard of it,” said spokesman Domonic Pila Debasura.

“Like we’d try and palm off an old, damp box with some wires in it as a broadband service. You’ll also note we spell it ‘internts’ which is technically different from the internet so there no point in taking legal action.”
