Next Issue Of The Spectator To Feature Giant Wipe-Clean Poster Of Toby Young
Publishing News: In a bid to boost circulation numbers, the next issue of The Spectator magazine will come with a free, wipeable poster of associate editor Toby Young.
If the giveaway proves successful, the weekly conservative magazine says future issues will contain other large glossy posters of columnists, including Rod Liddle and James Delingpole.
They are also considering giving away free audio books through their smartphone apps, featuring Liddle reading out some of his most sexist columns.
“We hope this brings a more immersive Spectator experience to the readers – plus the poster provides a colourful and hygienic talking point for any home,” said magazine editor Fraser Nelson.
“Readers don’t want to wait a whole week to see their favourite commentators in print or on Question Time, now they can gaze at them whenever they want, then wipe down the poster when they’re finished.”
