Daniel Day-Lewis Raises Method Acting Bar By Getting Assassinated At Oscars
Oscar News: Lincoln star Daniel Day-Lewis raised the bar on his dedication to method acting last night by being assassinated at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
“Once again Daniel showed incredible commitment to his role,” said a spokesman for the 85th Academy Awards.
“We knew we were in for a treat when he turned up in a horse drawn carriage and insisted he gets a balcony seat. From then on we just had to sit back, drink in his stellar performance and wait for him to get shot in back of the head at point-blank range.”
“It did give the show a much-needed sense of tension,” said host Seth MacFarlane.
“We all knew it was coming, but we weren’t sure it it would be during the song and dance number about Jews in Hollywood, or during the song and dance number about gays in Hollywood.”
