Obese Mice Urged To Stop Eating Cheese

Nature News: Concerned doctors have warned that Britain faces an ‘obese mouse epidemic’ if they don’t stop eating so much cheese and switch to healthier options.

“A cheese heavy diet is very bad for mice,” said Dr. Salvatore Grosso-Topo of the General Medical Council. “Factor that in with their lack of regular cardiovascular exercise and you have a ‘fat mouse time bomb’ that could go off in our faces anytime now.”

The Government has promised to tackle the problem with a leaflet campaign to be delivered through mouse holes, and a social media campaign aimed to appeal at tech-savvy younger mice.

“Mice need to consider healthier alternatives to cheese, such as fresh fruit and vegetables,” said Dr. Grosso-Topo.

“And if they really want to extend their lifetimes, mice should also consider staying away from cats, traps and not chewing through electrical cables. It’s all common sense really, I don’t know why they need to be told.”
