ISIS Changes Name To Avoid Chocolate Confusion
No, not ISIS the jihadist group, ISIS the Belgium chocolate makers – who are changing their name to avoid any confusion.
The Belgian chocolate maker’s name ISIS stands for Italy and Switzerland, where the founder learned how to make chocolate, reports Time.
“We chose ISIS as that was the brand name of our pralines and tablets,” said the chocolatier’s marketing manager. “Had we known there was a terrorist organization with the same name, we would have never chosen that.”
According to Reuters, late last year the chocolate maker changed its name from Italo Suisse to Isis, because the company no longer had any association with either country. Now it’s changing its name from Isis to “Libeert”, the family name of the company’s owners.
