Jeremy Corbyn takes on Downton Abbey role to ‘tackle the establishment from within’
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has sensationally revealed that he will appear as various characters in the new series of Downton Abbey in order confront the establishment on ‘their own territory’.
“Downton Abbey typifies the kind of social values that many in the Conservative government hold so dear, so it makes perfect sense for Jeremy to try and subvert that from within,” said one Labour insider.
“He hopes this will both help strengthen his media image as well as giving him the opportunity to share his vision of the future with millions of viewers across the UK. He also likes wearing wigs and rolling his eyes when someone uses the wrong cutlery during high tea.”
Corbyn will appear as both Lord Robert Crawley and Lady Violet Crawley in the new series of Downton, as well as the cook Mrs Patmore, who is expected to deliver long monologues about the renationalisation of the railways while making a blancmange.
