Water on Mars is actually the ‘tears of a lonely robot’ NASA confirms

“We have no idea why we built a robot capable of crying, but that’s exactly what it’s doing,” said a NASA spokesman.

Scientists have confirmed that the ‘salty water’ they claimed to have discovered on Mars is actually the briny tears of the Martian rover Curiosity, which has been on the planet since 2012.

“Modern technology is complicated and hard to keep track of,” said a NASA spokesman.

“Just as your average person might forget that their TV can perform certain key functions, we forgot that we built a robot that could weep.”

The river of tears wept by the robot is just the latest evidence that Curiosity isn’t coping well with its time on the red planet.

In 2013 it sent the message ‘nothing to live for now’ after a NASA technician accidentally uploaded spoilers for the final episode of Breaking Bad, and last year it went completely offline after a fault in mission control meant it was played the Pharrell Williams song ‘Happy’ 65,000 times in a row.
