Library book deposit slot gets puzzling note about a squirrel stuck to it by mystery person

Please yell “NOT A SQUIRREL” when opening book drop so we know you are a human and not a squirrel trying to steal Keith’s lunch”

We have so many theories…

1. Is this the librarians trolling the public by getting them to shout something silly?
2. Is this the librarians trying to make their day more enjoyable by hearing “not a squirrel” several times a day?
3. Is this a member of the public trolling the library by sticking this note up?
4. OR IS IT TOTALLY LEGIT!
