We love this Dutch town filled with streets named after Lord of the Rings characters
Not just one or two streets, mind, a whole district full of them. There’s Tolkein Avenue in the middle, Gandalf, Legolas, Galadriel, Frodo, Lorien … well, see for yourself.
It’s not quite as stunning as the locations for the film – a bit more Zeeland than New Zealand – but then it IS the Netherlands.
It was the brainchild of a town planner who worked on the local council and was – you guessed it – a big Tolkein fan.
Presumably it’s only got the one ring road.
If you want to explore the whole town, you can go on an unexpected journey here.
