Gary Lineker and the Daily Mail – it’s war!
Gary Lineker has hit back at the Daily Mail after the paper published an article alleging he avoided paying tax.
Lineker said the paper had a “vendetta” against him because it didn’t agree with his political opinions and said he wouldn’t be “bullied” by them.
It’s going to get tastier than a packet of salt and vinegar.
I have always paid my taxes on time and in full. The Daily Mail continues its vendetta against me because they don’t agree with my views.

I will continue to speak up for refugees and immigrants and British values of tolerance and free speech. I won’t be bullied by them.

And he points out that the Mail had been banned by Wikipedia because it was seen as “unreliable”. (You can read all about that here).
Unreliable? You don’t say. https://t.co/7lkkpsin2O

Certainly the Mail piece seems more interested in what Lineker has to say than how he organises his allegedly “colourful” tax affairs.
Lineker hasn’t been afraid to express his views on Twitter, much, apparently, to the Mail’s displeasure.
The treatment by some towards these young refugees is hideously racist and utterly heartless. What's happening to our country?

The article – trust us, life isn’t long enough to read it in full – bangs on about his “moral high ground” and the “smug echo chamber of woolly liberalism” in which he operates. Ha.
Now all it needs is Lineker’s nemesis Piers Morgan – a Mail columnist – to get involved. This one could run and run.
