“La La Land” sequel to be set in Luton
The sequel to the box office and critical hit “La La Land” will move the story from Los Angeles to Luton, and focus on trying to not get mugged in the town centre after dark.
“While La La Land is a feelgood love letter to the golden age of Hollywood, I wanted the follow up to feel more like a hopeless suicide note found in a multi-story car park – making Luton the perfect setting,” said the film’s director and writer Damien Chazelle.
“It’s also very close to an airport, so the cast and crew can quickly get the fuck out of there when the locals decide they want us all dead.”
Plot details are scarce, but it’s thought the film’s two main leads are reunited when Emma Stone’s character arrives to perform in a play at the Luton Library Theatre, while Ryan Gosling’s character is playing piano in the town’s branch of TK Maxx.
