Head injury patients are being freaked out when asked who the president is – and told it’s Donald Trump

A doctor has written of the difficulties of telling people with head injuries and dementia that the president of the United States is Donald Trump.

It’s one of four routine questions, along with What is your name?, Where are we?, and What is the date?, to make sure they are okay.

But a doctor told Slate.com that it’s not as straightforward as it used to be.
”Several times per week, a patient of mine answers the [president] question incorrectly.

“Each time now, I stop, take a big breath, look them squarely in the eyes, and then I reveal to them the full, undeniable truth of the situation: The president of these United States is Donald J. Trump.

“I pause. I do not break eye contact. For the most part, it isn’t pretty.

”Another blinked twice when I told him. “Really?” he said, in disbelief. “Come on, doc, you’re shaking my leg.” One patient accused me of playing a trick, although I have not yet been accused of bringing fake news.”
