They’ve worked out how to tell how much pee is in a swimming pool. You don’t want to know
Some science types in Canada have devised a test to tell how much urine is in public swimming pools.
How do they do this, you ask? By measuring the concentration in the water of an artificial sweetener that passes through the body unaltered. Lots of sweetener equals lots of piss. Got that?
In one of two public pools over a three-week period, they calculated that swimmers released 75 litres of urine into a large pool.
75 litres. That’s like, a medium sized dustbin full. In the pool. That YOU’RE SWIMMING IN.
This Guardian graphic might make you feel a bit better. But not much.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
