Tim Farron channels Alan Partridge as he tells voter to “smell my spaniel”
It’s the first #AccidentalPartridge of the general election campaign. Over to you, Tim Farron.

It’s not the most obvious catchphrase, but at least it’s memorable, so that’s a start.
The Lib Dem leader was talking to voters in Cambridge today, although it’s not entirely clear how the comment came about.
Farron DOES own a spaniel, but he didn’t have it with him today. In this picture the dog is doing its best not to smell the MP.
