Toys ‘R’ Us bankruptcy means parents will have to take their kids somewhere else to cry when they don’t get what they want
Parents across the US and Canada may been left without a place to take their children to have tantrums after Toys ‘R’ Us has filed for bankruptcy.
The company, which has nearly 1,600 stores in North America has struggled against larger rivals such as Amazon.
“The online experience simply isn’t the same,” said one worried parent.
“Having my kids throw a shitfit in front of a laptop when I refuse to buy them things off Amazon I can’t afford just isn’t the same as watching them have a complete meltdown in giant shed full of expensive toys that I can’t afford.”
“The generous acoustics of the average branch of Toys ‘R’ Us lend their hysterical shrieking an almost cathedral-like quality.”
Other parents were able to relate to the company’s financial problems.
“Being saddled with enormous long-term debt is exactly what happens to me when I visit Toys ‘R’ Us at Christmas.”
