This Miss America candidate had 2 seconds to introduce herself and she nailed it
Beauty pageants aren’t typically a hotbed of political debate (apart from the one about whether they should exist anymore).
Except Miss Michigan, taking part in the revamped Miss America contest, hinted at a bright new future for such events if every contestant did something like this.
Emily Sioma got political with the two seconds she was allowed to introduce herself and it went viral (although you might have to turn the volume up to hear).
#MissMichigan just said: “From a state with 84% of the US fresh water but none for its residents to drink…”

The Michigan city of Flint has suffered a public health crisis due to above average levels of lead in its water supply after it began using the Flint River as its source of water.
