One second from every scene in Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace is a thing of wonder
Close to the top of the list of TV series which really should have got a second series but inexplicably didn’t is Channel 4’s spoof horror series, Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace.
The man behind it Matthew Holness has just released a new horror film called Possum so it feels like an entirely appropriate time to enjoy this.

Holness created the show with Richard Ayoade – they also both starred in it – alongside Matt Berry and Alice Lowe. And Richard Herring is totally on the money when he says this.
This makes it look so good. And it’s actually better than this. What a brilliant show. https://t.co/UAWP6GZ3W0

One of the funniest shows ever made, would love a 4K blu ray release of this, with interviews, special features, everything bar the kitchen sink.

It was filmed on video in the 80s it can never be 4k

Plus most of the original film is lost at the bottom of the Thames… and there is no going back from that

And you can see the whole series on Channel 4’s streaming service, All4.
Oh, and follow Matthew Holness here.
