Brits can’t believe Americans have only just discovered the doner kebab
There’s a fine tradition in the UK of going out and getting legless, then buying a kebab on the way home, before deeply regretting both of those things the following morning. It might be challenged by pizzas, burgers or curry, but it will always be there – so, when US-based Insider magazine revealed that Americans are going crazy for the dish, due to The Halal Guys, there were a couple of issues.

Firstly, how have they only just realised kebabs are a thing?

Secondly, why are they calling it a “meat platter” or a “sandwich”?

There was an obvious question?

One enterprising Twitter user, StephenGraham68, wondered if he might also have a culinary delight to introduce to a wider audience.
My mate Gregg has this great idea for steak & gravy in flakey pastry – I’ll call it Baked Steak and it’ll sell $millions 😁

Sounds good – he should give it a go.
In all fairness to the US, have we really got room to criticise, when it’s taken Brits nearly two years to respond to that tweet?
