The internet brought Dominic Raab to book for posing with his reading matter – 15 funny reactions
Back in the mists of time before he vanished from the political landscape, UKIP MEP Paul Nuttall fell foul of the internet for manipulating the background of a photograph to make it seem as though he had a larger library than he did.
Hi, @UKIP. Will @paulnuttallukip have time to lead the party, considering he has to read every book in his photoshopped bookcase twice? pic.twitter.com/YJT2900VuK

Whether Dominic Raab wasn’t aware of this or simply forgot it, he certainly managed to make a similar mistake by
attempting to manipulate the background for an interview with the addition of a few carefully selected books.
Sad that Dominic Raab cannot afford bookshelves, and is forced to place small stacks of politically relevant books either side of his head in a way that looks really inconvenient in terms of opening those blinds. pic.twitter.com/K8MUp9DPEo

Like the hapless Nuttall before him, the Conservative MP and former Brexit Secretary was not given an easy ride by Twitter.

Since Dominic Raab couldn’t manage to spend half an hour to read the 35 pages of the Good Friday Agreement – which torpedoed his magisterial role as Brexit Secretary – I suspect these books are all blank or perhaps designed to be coloured in. https://t.co/sHJqZRpp8K

*looks up at camera from cup of tea* "Oh, haha, how embarassing! You've caught me reading my favourite book; Economics, the book about economics by The Economist."

My theory – he was given them as suggested reading by concerned constituents… he doesn’t know what a book is… he is using them to weigh down the blinds because he doesn’t know how they work… see it all makes sense really.

This is the sort of photo a man sends to a dating site when he doesn’t read books….but thinks he ought to, because he’s heard “classy ladies” dig that.
