People are laughing at what Newsnight’s lighting did for Jacob Rees-Mogg
It isn’t just the acting community that has to wear make-up on screen, presenters and guests on current events programmes are also given a little touch-up with a powder puff to reduce the effects of the harsh studio lights. But there’s only so much that make-up can do if it turns out that the lighting just isn’t your friend, like in this shot of Jacob Rees-Mogg on Newsnight.

Does this remind you of anybody? Hmmm …
Of course, other people spotted the – presumably – unintended Hitler makeover – or makeunder. Whatever.
Amazing use of lighting on Newsnight.

When Jacob Rees-Mogg quote tweeted a far-right German political group, the AfD, lawyer Chris Hallam asked this.
Has Rees-Mogg taken his Newsnight lighting incident to heart…? pic.twitter.com/nHo3zPjcpX

It was quite reminiscent of a big-screen pixel fail that distracted people during a Nigel Farage interview in which he talked about Enoch Powell.

But it was graphic artist, Tokyo Sexwhale, who had the funniest spin on the story.
