This joke about Delta Airlines was made far funnier by their reply

One of the many responsibilities of a company’s social media manager is dealing with dissatisfied customers who have decided to draw attention to their missed delivery target or squashed parcel via a public shaming online. The @customercaring Twitter account parodies the kind of replies given under these circumstances, with posts like this:

Occasionally, an apparently genuine complaint can be a comedic delight.

And some companies buddy up to create a buzz around themselves with a little to-ing and fro-ing.

Sometimes, a company misses a joke – even if it’s obvious to everybody else, which is what happened here.

Drew Gooden is a former Vine star who now posts funny stuff via Youtube, and not a superhero who can survive being sucked through a plane toilet and hurtling through the sky …whilst tweeting, but Delta took his tweet at face value.

This was Drew’s clarification.

That’s cleared everything up nicely. Here are some of the reactions to whatever was going on with Delta.

However, it seems that the “toilet incident” might have have been Drew’s fault all along.

Someone called Max – and a lot of other people – probably had the right explanation.

Either that or it was HBB’s last day – whether they knew it or not.
