People love how this honey farmer turned thieving bears into a focus group
If you thought the whole vibe of Pooh Bear being obsessed with honey was just a quaint fiction, you’d be right, because he’s not real, but the idea of bears eating the sweet and sticky treat is very much anchored in fact. One honey farmer in Turkey was so plagued by honey-stealing bears that he decided to use their expertise to try some quality testing.
Ibrahim Sedef’s cunning ruse involved leaving out four kinds of honey, clearly labelled and in plain sight of a hidden camera. He discovered that the bears definitely had a favourite, which means he can go one of two ways – either making more of Turkeys famously expensive Anzer honey, as it’s the experts’ choice, or he can stop making it altogether, in the hope of banishing the furry thieves.
Turkish news site, DHA, shared his story, with this footage, in Turkish but easy to follow.
The story touched a nerve with Twitter users.
OK, a bee farmer was tired of bears stealing his honey, so he turned them into taste testers. This is a #picturebook! pic.twitter.com/xGcOzFLYev

Regardless of the form they take, focus groups are still a critical part of the product development process. #WednesdayWisdom https://t.co/iOeGRy1eWD
