The Express accidentally used a photo of a joke passport to illustrate the latest Brexit triumph
One of the totems for Brexiters has been the traditional blue passports, which they insisted the UK had been forced to give up by the EU, but which turned out to be a matter of choice.
The Daily Express posted a triumphant headline about the introduction of the post-Brexit blue passports, which are to be manufactured in France, and Michael Szydlo spotted something unexpected about the accompanying photo.
OMFG I'm pissing myself laughing
LOOK WHAT PHOTO OF THE 'BLUE PASSPORT' THEY USED 🤣 pic.twitter.com/s6Ol6Fekg3— Michael Szydlo (@MichaelSzydlo) 23 January 2020
It originates from this, one posted somewhere on twitter when the 'blue passports' were first announced pic.twitter.com/OJJw2F0Kk3

If the words “Your mother was a hamster.” seem familiar, it’s because they come from this:
In fact, the Monty Python official Twitter account were the ones who’d tweeted the image in the first place.

We only wish Terry Jones could have been around to see this hilarious turn of events.
We thought you’d like to see what people had to say about the apt cock-up.
You know what, I think they should run with it. This SHOULD be the new passport.

I've just renewed my passport and the only thing that would make me happy about it coming back Blue and less useful than my old one, would be if it says Your Mother Was a Hamster.

Mistake or somewhere at the Express there’s a picture Ed intern who’s a Monty Python fan and secret remainer! #YourMotherWasAHamster https://t.co/9GmPqp90Qa

Perhaps the people who signed this petition might be interested in taking it up as the new motto.
