Seven hilarious Mash Report moments that went wildly viral
BBC2’s satirical comedy show The Mash Report, fronted by Nish Kumar and featuring Rachel Parris and Ellie Taylor, is coming to an end after four series, the BBC confirmed today.
Its demise comes after new BBC director general Tim Davie was said to be ‘targeting left wing comedy’, although people were divided over how much this might have had to do with it.
Well, some people were.
The Mash Report was the best UK topical comedy show for decades and also ironically gave right wing comic @GeoffNorcott a regular platform to do his stuff. Very bad decision to axe it.

People always slate newsy late night comedy. I remember when everybody slated The Eleven O'Clock Show, and it launched Ricky Gervais. Sacha Baron Cohen and Mackenzie Crook, ffs. I thought The Mash Report was often great and I'm looking forward to what they all do next. So there.

The Mash Report, a comedy program critical of the government has been axed by the state broadcaster, reportedly for political reasons, and at the behest of a director general appointed by the government. Finally, a stone cold example of what 'cancel culture' looks like.

I don't think The Mash Report was that dangerous, lads. I think the real story is that the BBC cancelled it after a few series, just like they do with any new comedy these days. Amazing that it got to 4, really. If it was a panel show, though, it would have another decade in it.

The Mash Report has been cancelled and I expect the free-speech campaigners to be outraged at this axing of a show any moment now. After all, they think it is TERRIBLE to be cancelled no matter what the political opinions are. It's their whole thing.
