Mel Brooks’ response to being told to take the farting out of Blazing Saddles is a life lesson for us all
At the age of 95 the great Mel Brooks has just written his first memoir. It’s called ‘All About Me!’ and we hope it will be as entertaining as his films.
We mention this because this excerpt from an interview with the great man has just gone wildly viral on Twitter.
It details how he dealt with studio interference during the making of some of his best-loved films. And it’s surely a salutary life lesson for us all (whether you’re in Hollywood or elsewhere).
It was shared by @Doug_Tilley who said: ‘God Mel Brooks.’

To conclude …
And because we can never get enough of this clip of Brooks on BBC1’s The One Show, also this.
