It looks like Boris Johnson hosted a Downing St quiz and people have questions

If Boris Johnson thought he was going to get some sort of break – of the political, if not the sleep kind – because there’s a new baby in the house, he was very much mistaken.

Hot on the heels of his PMQs insistence that he had no personal knowledge of any gatherings in Downing Street last winter, information and photos were passed to the Mirror’s Pippa Crerar, suggesting that he had actually taken a turn as quizmaster in one such gathering.

With London in Tier 2 when the photo was taken, forbidding mixing of more than two people at a time from different households for social purposes, the quiz, which saw teams of six in various parts of Downing Street take part via video link – as well as Johnson and his two aides – would have been in breach of the law.

Keir Starmer told Andrew Marr that the leak confirmed Boris Johnson to be ‘the worst possible leader at the worst possible time’.

We doubt he’d get much of an argument from these people.
