Tory MP Marcus Fysh panned for comparing Covid passes to Nazi Germany
The Brexit-supporting MP for Yeovil, Marcus Fysh, who voted in favour of making ID compulsory to vote, earned widespread condemnation on Monday, when he told Radio 5 Live’s Rachel Burden that Covid passes are like something from Nazi Germany.
🗣'We are not a papers please society… this is not Nazi Germany.'
🗣'I think there is a long, long way between what people are being asked to do and Nazi Germany.'
Conservative MP, Marcus Fysh told @rachelburden why he's against vaccine passports.

You are segregating society based on an unacceptable thing.
We are not a ‘papers, please’ society. This is not Nazi Germany.
Tweeters were appalled, with many pointing out the hypocrisy of his hysterical reaction to the Covid pass when compared to his voting record.

dear God, this is so obnoxious. Showing your vaccine or negative test status is not like "Nazi Germany", and it's deeply offensive to suggest it is. https://t.co/adiChUvo9K

I had forgotten that bit in Schindler's List where the Nazis demand people show them an app on their phone or they can't go into the nightclub and have a really fun night without getting ill. https://t.co/hklXdM7f9N

Boundary changes and voter ID proposals will remove the vote from almost 10 million of us. The party wants to cancel human rights, and just passed a law letting them throw 6 million – almost all non-white – out of the country.
But a QR code outside a nightclub is fascism. https://t.co/MtD1LarKOU

Never mind the appalling Nazi Germany reference, it’s impressive to see Tories who a couple of weeks ago backed voter ID saying we’re not a “papers please” society. https://t.co/wmOmAidy6i

BREAKING: Conservatives are comparing pandemic Britain to Nazi Germany and the parallels are truly alarming. For example, in Nazi Germany they built concentration camps, whereas in pandemic Britain, we must put a tiny cloth on our faces in Tesco so people with asthma don't die.

My grandparents were amongst the lucky few to flee Nazi Germany. Sadly they're no longer around to ask whether vaccine passports was the final straw for them … https://t.co/HFnJwbKase

Here’s a handy guide to comparisons with Nasi Germany, from the Mirror’s Pippa Crerar.
It’s quite simple. Don’t compare anything to Nazi Germany apart from… Nazi Germany. https://t.co/A3tOAyvutZ
