‘Why they named it Omicron’ is funny because it’s true
With almost all attention on the Omicron Covid variant, some people have been baffled – having checked Wikipedia – that a couple of letters of the Greek alphabet were passed over.
Comedy trio Foil Arms and Hog got to the bottom of it, and their explainer is the only one you need.
It’s funny because it’s true – and also because Foil Arms and Hog are comedy geniuses. YouTube users were full of praise.
I really like the “Not Again!” variant name, because that was my immediate reaction when I first heard about it! Great relatable and topical sketch, guys! 👍👏😃

‘AH GIVE IT A REST’ was by far the best option, I don’t know why they didn’t go with that😂

“Sounds like something you clean your toilet with”. Lmaooo! You’re not wrong though. Brilliant sketch lads ♥

Can we just appreciate the amazing co-acting that Foil and Arms were doing? I can’t imagine how hard timing is. And the look of despair on Hogs face? I think we all feel that rn

I was scared of the Omicron variant until I heard Foil and Arms compare it to fungal cream and say it in a transformer voice. Then I learned that laughter is the best medicine. 🤣*

*NB – Don’t try to treat Covid with laughter.
Greek YouTube user, Gian Giorg had this unique take on Omicron.
As a Greek I have to say this. Omicron is the letter representing the “O” sound and it means “O – little” (“Micro” Is little in Greek).
But, we have another letter for the “O” sound, a letter which, in ancient times, was for a longer “Ooo” sound and, because of that, is called Omega (BIG”O”) and it is the LAST LETTER!
Let’s hope we won’t come across this variant…
