Honk! Honk! This train driver giving these people the shock of their lives is 24 seconds well spent
Not sure what’s the most jaw-dropping thing about this video – the fact these people are walking on the railway line (never walk on a railway line) or that the train was able to get so close unnoticed.
The funniest bit, though, is definitely their reaction when the driver decides to let them know what’s happening.
Sound up!
Boom.
‘Why … HOW COULD YOU NOT NOTICE A F**KING TRAIN SNEAKING UP ON YOU.’
ballyfast‘Contrary to popular belief, trains can be impressively quiet from the listeners perspective until they’re pretty much on top of you.
‘When doing work near railroads (in the US at least) generally there are two people placed very far away at either end of the workers position with an air horn. Their literal only job is to stand there and watch for trains, on any track (if there are multiple) so you have 10-15+ seconds warning.
‘The saying is always to expect a train, coming from any direction, at any time.’
BangorSkis‘When i was a kid i went to a haunted house and at one point there were some railroad tracks that you crossed that led into a hallway/makeshift tunnel. I really didn’t think anything of it but as soon as i stepped into them a loud af horn and a bright light flashed from inside the tunnel. Biggest jump scare ever! lol’
The_Running_Free‘I think it is a good practice to not walk on train tracks in general. The ground on either side looks flat and comfortable.’
Mike3055‘I mean … it’s illegal too. Everything about doing it is stupid.’
DietDrDoomsdayPreppr‘I don’t know what language they are speaking, but one of my favorite things in the world is to see people from around the world laughing their asses off at the same kinds of things I would. Makes the world seem a little friendlier.’
