‘Got a PhD in Virology from the University of Facebook’
There are so many bad takes on the science of coronavirus that there are Reddit forums and Twitter accounts dedicated to chronicling them – and the word covidiot is a thing.
Conspiracy theories spread on all corners of the internet, but Facebook seems to be particularly culpable.
Exhibit A.
Exhibit B.
We could go through the alphabet, in fact we could go through all the alphabets, but no amount of examples could get the message across as well as this sketch by comedian and radio presenter, Cormac Moore.
I recently went back to education and got a PhD in Virology from the University of Facebook.

“Getting the doctorate in virology was really really tough, but thankfully the university broke the information down into digestible bitesize memes, which weren’t peer reviewed at all.”
This sketch should be shown on TV as a public information film. Tweeters were in awe.

This response from @Timlagor was (partly) relatable.
I wanted to do the piss-drinking diet but every morning I wake to find the government has taken it all

To be clear – the government bit – not the diet.
