This ex-Ukraine president’s blistering takedown of Boris Johnson’s Brexit comparison is the only one you need
You will no doubt already have read about the fury and downright disbelief that was prompted by Boris Johnson after he compared the struggle of Ukrainians fighting Russia’s invasion to people who voted for Brexit.
Johnson told last weekend’s Conservative spring conference: ‘I know that it’s the instinct of the people of this country, like the people of Ukraine, to choose freedom every time.’
And his comparison prompted no end of scorn, but no-one responded as well as Ukraine’s former president Petro Poroshenko. Here’s what he told ITV News in the clip that has just gone wildly viral on Twitter.
‘How many Britons died because of Brexit? Zero’

There are TV & radio shows, newspapers & countless corners of the internet where Boris Johnson's supporters in politics, the media & the public can deny the evidence of their own eyes and ears. But the world is watching and this is what they see. https://t.co/N90xuZYPq1

It's so shameful that amidst Ukraine's fight for survival, one of its leaders has to take time to distance his country from Boris Johnson's thoughtless remarks comparing their struggle to Brexit. For Johnson, everything is always about him. For Ukraine, its about real freedom. https://t.co/lDYs7c6zgS
