North Korea’s video of Kim Jong Un’s missile launch was unintentionally hilarious (but still terrifying)
To be filed under ‘it goes without saying’, there’s obviously nothing remotely funny found about North Korea testing a banned intercontinental ballistic missile.
And yet this video broadcast on North Korea’s state television, featuring Kim Jong Un apparently overseeing the illegal test, is unintentionally hilarious.
It went viral because, well, best have a watch for yourself.
BREAKING: North Korea’s state-run television shows edited footage of Kim Jong Un guiding the test-launch of what the country referred to as the Hwasong-17 ICBM.

And here are just a few of the many things people were saying about it.
Much to savour but for me nothing beats the watch-checking montage. https://t.co/wzLdx6FgNd

This is NOT a parody, but if it were, I would have enormous respect for the 'everyone looks at their watch like it's a launch countdown' bit right before the missile is trundled out of a hangar on a glorified flatbed.#NorthKorea #KimJongUn https://t.co/pedIHP0ZnM

And it didn’t end there.
NEW: North Korea’s state-run television shows the moment the country’s military officials count down from 10 before they push what appears to be the launch button for Thursday’s ICBM.
