This MP’s question to Boris Johnson about a ‘lying in politics’ bill was both the subtlest and most savage burn
You’ll be aware by know that arcane Parliamentary rules mean it’s much easier to lie in the House of Commons than it is to actually accuse someone of lying.
And it was possibly this that was at the forefront of this MP’s question to Boris Johnson at PMQs today, which managed to be both the subtlest and most savage burn at the same time.
It’s Liz Saville-Roberts, leader of Plaid Cymru in the House of Commons, and it’s not only what she has to say, but how she says it.
“Will the prime minister support a lying in politics bill?” asks Plaid Cymru’s Liz Saville-Roberts
PM Boris Johnson says “it is well known that the rules of this House demand that we tell the truth in this House and that’s what we all try to do"#PMQs https://t.co/NgaiyOeEt7 pic.twitter.com/mxRTgh0GxZ
