This ‘nice guy’s’ inability to take ‘goodbye’ for an answer will have you hollering into next week.
There’s a corner of Reddit called ‘nice guys’ which is devoted to ‘self-proclaimed “nice guys” [who] are manchildren or douches, who mistake being spineless and pathetic for being “nice”.’
And this is a classic hall of famer, a man who was offered a lift to work by a colleague but then couldn’t take ‘goodbye’ for an answer.
‘All I did was offer to give him rides to work so he wouldn’t have to walk …’ said avalon72.
And here are our favourite things people said in response over on Reddit.
‘Girl: “I’m am setting boundaries in this relationship. I do not want to be more than friends”
‘Guy: “I’m setting a new boundary. I don’t even want to be friends at all”
‘Girl: immediately accepts it, respects his new boundaries, and acts accordingly
‘Guy: literally can’t even fathom that response.’
pawhay“I don’t think I can be friends with someone who quickly shuts me down.”
Okay, bye then.
“WAIT, WAIT, COME BACK”
Kheso‘Drive up to him when it’s raining really hard… slow down, roll down the window, wave, then speed off.’
[deleted]“I don’t give my number to people I’m not interested in” ok so he has no phone numbers of family, friends, co-workers, doctors?? He only uses his phone for people he’s interested in romantically??
genericxinsight‘You can FORGET having the PRIVILEGE of giving him rides to work.’
