Gary Lineker spotted an ‘MP watching porn’ open goal and hoofed it into the back of the net
Just when you thought the House of Commons – or large parts of it, at least – couldn’t slip any further in your estimation, this happens.
EXCL: A Tory frontbencher watched porn on his mobile phone in the House of Commons while sitting alongside a female minister https://t.co/0EYAOak1QN

The shocked minister told colleagues about the incident at a highly-charged meeting of Tory MPs at Westminster last night.
Three sources told the Mirror that around a dozen women MPs at the meeting shared accounts of alleged sexism and harassment by their colleagues.

New chief whip Chris Heaton-Harris looked on aghast.
One Tory MP tells me: “It was like a blood-letting. Everybody was sharing awful stories of what had happened to them in the Commons at the hands of male MPs. He clearly hadn’t been expecting it and looked knocked for six."

That’s right, a Conservative front bench MP has been spotted watching porn in the House of Commons. Caught red-handed, you might say.
And not for the first time, apparently.
On porn watching in chamber. MP at meeting says female minister saw it “next to her” & a colleague corroborated it. Also says women have subsequently spoken to chief whip & named man. Minister apparently also said culprit had been doing “in committee so repeat offenders”

It prompted no end of comment, as you might imagine.
1.
Imagine having the gall to watch porn on your phone in the House of Commons. 3 years ago I was watching Frasier on my laptop on a train and Frasier and a woman started kissing and I briefly worried anyone passing by would think I was watching porn.

You’d think that for £82,000 a year plus expenses at the very least we could expect them not to crank one out in parliament https://t.co/KcE02zHZ6c

Hang on, what's the sequence?
1: Deny there was any porn
2: Admit there was a video, but deny it was porn
3: Admit it was porn, but say "I didn't realise it was porn as I was watching it."
4: Apologise fulsomely for watching porn.
5: Insist that everyone watches porn at work.— Edwin Flay (@EdwinFlay) April 27, 2022
4.
Watching porn at work bad enough. When workplace is the Commons, mind-blowing. But to do it, where people are literally able to look down on you from the press and public galleries, with cameras around, suggests thickness that could see them get a Cabinet post quite soon

5.
Can’t believe it was a front bench minister. What does he think the back benches are for?

I’ve never understood the idea of watching porn at work or in any kind of public space. As *watching* porn is surely a pointless thing to do without its…more interactive element. Are these MPs watching for the storylines? The acting?
— David Baddiel (@Baddiel) April 27, 2022
But the best response might very well go to Gary Lineker, who spotted this open goal and hoofed it into the back of the net.
Mass debating in the House is common. https://t.co/7caMAoiyF9

Peep, peep, peeeeeep!
To conclude …
A top Tory MP was caught by a female colleague watching porn on his phone in the House of Commons chamber.
What the hell is wrong with these people?!
