A Tory peer accused Keir Starmer of ‘putting pressure’ on Durham police – only 5 responses you need
As you will no doubt already have seen elsewhere by now, Labour leader Keir Starmer has said he will resign if he, like Boris Johnson, is given a Fixed Penalty Notice for breaking lockdown rules.
The Durham police investigation follows days of pressure from the right-wing press over so-called Beergte, the food break he took while campaigning in April 2021.
"This is a matter of principle and honour for me, it's about who I am, what I stand for"

While we wait to see what will happen next, his declaration prompted no end of hand-wringing from the Labour leader’s critics who suddenly saw the possibility of the whole Beergate campaign blowing up in their face.
Which brings us to this tweet by Tory peer, Lord Moylan.
It seems to me it would be highly improper for Sir @Keir_Starmer to put pressure on Durham Police by saying in advance that he would resign if fined. @BorisJohnson by contrast, despite bullying from @UKLabour, has kept a very proper silence.
