The applause which greeted this Tory MP’s explosive PMQs intervention surely says it all
As Boris Johnson clung on to power during a bruising, humiliating PMQs today, the PM was duffed up good and proper by both Labour leader Keir Starmer and former health secretary, Sajid Javid.
But possibly the most explosive, unexpected intervention surely came from Conservative MP, Gary Sambrook.
If the name rings a distant bell, then it’s because he went viral a while back after this happened.
Apparently if you disagree that vouchers is the only way to solve poverty this is what happens. Some on the left always try to bully their way through politics & caricature the right as evil (or scum) for merely disagreeing. I’m afraid that sort of politics just doesn’t work pic.twitter.com/0wEjZtBdmP

Anyway, here’s what he had to tell Johnson today about his premiership and specifically his attitude towards the Chris Pincher scandal, and it’s magnificent stuff.

It’s not the done thing to applaud in the Commons, as you’ll probably know, but that was something exceptional.
Tory MP Gary Sambrook furious at PM for blaming fellow MPs for not intervening on Pincher.
“The PM constantly tries to deflect from the issue, always tries to blame other people for mistakes. There’s nothing left to do other than take some responsibility and resign”.

And here are just a few of the many things people said about it.

Gary Sambrook came to do two things – eat big dinners and clean up parliament, and he’s just finished his dinner

That Sambrook intervention was fucking dynamite.

Extraordinary. Gary Sambrook revealing that Boris Johnson told MPs in the tea room the problem was that MPs drinking with Pincher didn't intervene. The PM had already told the house he knew of Pincher's record.
Anyone but him is to blame. Thats not leadership. Thats Cowardice.

And just in case you found some of those responses just a little bit cryptic, enjoy this minute or so from John Carpenter’s They Live. And if they did make sense, enjoy it anyway …
