In ‘Normal Monday in British politics‘ news, the government won the motion of confidence it had tabled in itself, despite the remaining candidates for Boris Johnson’s job all unsurprisingly absent from the speechmaking.
More-loyal colleagues than the No. 10 hopefuls took turns to stand and list Boris Johnson’s imaginary achievements, but his arguably most faithful MP, Nadine Dorries, found an altogether more on-brand way to defend him.

It’s rapier-like wit of that calibre that’s got her where she is today – panicking because the only PM who would give her a cabinet position is on his way out.
