Boris Johnson thanked the firefighters during the UK’s hottest day and Tim Burgess’s response was 10/10
The unprecedented heat in the UK on Tuesday saw the London fire service deal with its busiest day since the second world war.
Fires raged in London and across the UK, with the capital’s fire service dealing with more than 2,600 calls on Tuesday (more than five times a typically busy day).
The outgoing prime minister Boris Johnson showed his support with a tweet.
My thanks go to all the firefighters and frontline services who are working incredibly hard to keep us safe on this scorching day. I urge everyone to continue to follow the advice from emergency services – including @LondonFire as they respond to incidents.

And it caught the attention of the Charlatans’ Tim Burgess, who replied with this moment from a public debate about cuts to the fire service imposed by Johnson nine years ago when he was London mayor.
This you @BorisJohnson?

Just one of the many, many clues that have been there, for so, so long.
And even after this sort of behaviour folks still went on to vote for him and believe him – just makes me really wonder about the great British public

How did he end up being PM? I'll never understand
