Feargal Sharkey totally nailed the beach sewage scandal and it’s 2 minutes very well spent
Once better known as the lead singer of the Undertones and for later telling everyone that a good heart is hard to find, Feargal Sharkey is these days going viral in the fight against water companies ditching sewage in our rivers and on our beaches.
A keen fisherman and passionate environmental campaigner, Sharkey has been busier than ever of late for reasons which we probably won’t need to remind you about.
But just in case, this sort of thing has been happening all round England’s coasts right now …
Beaches in #Bexhill, #NormansBay and #Hastings remain closed after raw sewage is pumped into the sea https://t.co/l4FstkiKYC pic.twitter.com/8yywwTKgVV

And it really is quite extraordinary.
turns out people don't like swimming in raw sewage, who knew

Sharkey was on BBC Breakfast today where he was asked about an LBC interview in which Rachel Johnson was interviewing Stanley Johnson about Boris Johnson and, well, you can read more about that here.
This is what Sharkey had to say and it’s two minutes very well spent.
#BBCBreakfast – Is brexit partly to blame for the sewage problems in the UK?
Feargal Sharkey – It definitely is.. you have to blame the govt for this whole sorry mess… the industry is out of control & it’s our rivers & beaches that are picking up the tab for that profiteering pic.twitter.com/PNLka94zH7

Nailed it.
I know people say celebs should keep their noses out of politics, but if it wasn’t for the likes of Feargal Sharkey, Marcus Rashford etc then govt malpractices would be put on the back burner.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, 2021: Fish are “better and happier” because they are “now British” after Brexit
At least they’ve still got Freedom of Movement, I suppose
— David (@Zero_4) August 22, 2022
‘Freedom in movements’ surely?
“To what extent do you think Brexit is a consideration in [#SewageScandal]? Is it a consideration?”
