The brutal takedown of this Tory peer was 3 months in the making and it’s fabulous

Sometimes the very best comebacks are worth waiting for, and this one is straight out of the top drawer.

Rewind to 31 May this year, when Tory peer and former advisor to Boris Johnson Lord Moylan said calls for the then PM to resign over Partygate were ‘politically driven’ and a ‘press campaign.’

It caught the eye of James Mitchinson, editor of the Yorkshire Post, who was keen to nail the suggestion that it was just a ‘press campaign’. And he really wasn’t messing around when he did it.

Moylan responded like this …

… So imagine the absolute satisfaction @JayMitchinson must have felt when tweeting this on Tuesday, moments after Johnson had been driven away from Downing Street.

BOOM!

Turns out Moylan likes to troll The Yorkshire Post, posting things like this.

And this.

Which just makes the whole thing even sweeter.
