Good luck with that not enough maths teachers to teach them to 16. Never mind those that need to resit at FE

I wasn't very good at maths, I wasn't particularly interested in maths and, at almost 38, I can tell you that my main uses for maths now are dividing a restaurant/bar bill (I'm GREAT at it) and…that's it. There are no benefits to compulsory maths til 18. Sunak is desperate.

We've reached the "cones hotline" stage of this Tory government, for those us who remember the exhausted Major government coming up with similarly ridiculous policies the last time round. https://t.co/TFxpbJl9Rd

Dead Cat:
The dead cat strategy, also known as deadcatting, is the political strategy of deliberately making a shocking announcement to divert media attention away from problems or failures in other areas.

“In a world where data is everywhere and statistics underpin every job, our children's jobs will require more analytical skills than ever before” is a terrible argument for studying maths. https://t.co/zokyQUlNbf

"It's a very small minority, PM, but apparently there are still a few young people out there who *don't* passionately loathe us. But don't worry, we have a plan." https://t.co/JqZhewfz7Y

Q. If your pay rise is 2%, but inflation is 11%, rail fares are rising by 5.9%, and your pension is down by 22%, how should you vote? show your working.

Maths is useless unless you need to figure out problems such as "A government promises 40 new hospitals, but spends 38 billion on an app that doesn't work, nurses deserve a 19% pay rise, how much will the government give to their mates in PPE contracts?" https://t.co/rzc2OnB2HV

Perhaps he should start with making sure that all pupils can have breakfast. https://t.co/mAjUIZugdn
