Laurence Fox’s deposit-losing performance in Uxbridge made his party’s prediction even funnier
The results of Thursday’s by-elections are in and the Conservatives have lost two of the three contested seats, with Labour taking Selby and Ainsty and the Lib Dems winning Somerton and Frome.
By-election results: Tories suffer two heavy losses but hold Uxbridge https://t.co/jCzra0grX2

In Boris Johnson‘s abandoned seat, Uxbridge and South Ruislip, the Tories edged a win over Labour – by just 495 votes – which experts believe is due to voters’ objection to the ULEZ.
It was in Uxbridge that former actor Laurence Fox had thrown his hat into the ring, pulling in a hefty 714 votes. That’s less than half what he would have needed to get his deposit back.
people say #Byelections are boring but where else can you match the entertainment of Laurence Fox losing his deposit again

Laurence Fox got 714 votes, ironically this is the same number of minutes it took to try and burn inflammable trans flags in his garden

Just over 700 votes for Laurence Fox. Fair play to him for getting the entire GB News audience out to vote.#Byelections

It made this already fanciful tweet from the Reclaim Party look even more delusional.
Even if Reclaim had nailed the impossible task of fending off both the Tories and Labour, it really begs the question ‘How do Reclaim think the PM is chosen?’ It’s certainly not by having one by-election winner and a defector (Andrew Bridgen).
Fox added a splash of culture warmongering to the discourse.
Elsewhere, it was mostly welcomed as a gift from the Twitter comedy gods.
