There’s not enough facepalm in the world for this woman’s complaint about claiming food stamps
Reddit user u/pappy_smith shared a screenshot of this eye-wateringly hard-faced post from Facebook. Brace yourself for some industrial strength facepalming.
As Elizabeth Barrett Browning might have said (but probably not) – ‘How wrong is this post? Let me count the ways.‘
Reddit wasn’t backwards at coming forwards when counting the ways.
Lady on phone was laughing at the poor scam attempt.

I wonder if by ‘laugh ‘ they actually mean ‘called me out on my lies’ and rejected their claim.

Why do people post the potentially illegal stuff they do on social media? I guess in this case it would help the government prove the person intentionally lied rather than just being “mistaken” on details.

I work food stamp cases. There is no lie you can tell that I haven’t heard 50 times before. People think they are original. They aren’t.

Reached out to get food stamps… because I’m tired of paying for my own groceries.
Cool.

As someone who, for most of her childhood relied on government and community programs, to stay fed, clothed and shod and then went on to do community work for the same organisations that kept her alive, these people make me livid.

“I’m very bad at lying to person that has heard every lie to try to scam the system, and she LAUGHED AT ME!!!”
Yeah, guy, she knows what’s up, and your story was probably insane.

Hey! Maybe don’t confess to attempting welfare fraud on social media! What a whacky concept???

shadowbred had a modicum of empathy, if not sympathy.
I too am tired of paying for my own groceries.
Not gonna attempt benefits fraud because of it, but I’m certainly tired of it.
