North by Northwest in 2 minutes and 16 seconds of hip-hop gets the full five stars

Back in the lockdown days, while Boris Johnson was partying, Matt Hancock was snogging his assistant and the rest of us were burning the banana bread, art dealer Alexander Miles was nurturing his creative alter-ego, Alfred Hiphop.

Three years and two prime ministers later, he’s given Twitter the gift of the hip-hop summary of one of the true Hitchcock greats – North by Northwest.

He told us –

“My theory is there are two ways to watch films; by yourself in quiet, contemplative reverence, or with a massive bunch of pals trying to kill each other laughing — these are supposed to be that.”

Although no further endorsements are really necessary, if you had to have any – these are the ones you’d choose.

Despite the pseudonym, Alex has given the special treatment to more than just Hitchcock films. For example, his latest production is this two minute and 19-second version of Billy Wilder‘s masterpiece, Some Like It Hot.

You can see loads more of ‘Alfred Hiphop’ on YouTube and, of course, if you follow Alex on Twitter you won’t miss any upcoming gems, such as the hip-hop versions of E.T., High Noon and Raging Bull.

Enough said.
