Good news, everyone – Rishi Sunak only inadvertently broke the Code of Conduct when he made his wife even richer
We’re all very relieved to learn that when the PM failed to declare his wife’s financial interest in Koru Kids – one of only six agencies chosen to benefit from new rules regarding childcare funding – he did so inadvertently, according to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.

Despite concluding that Rishi Sunak had broken the MPs’ code of conduct, the commissioner has recommended that no further action be taken.
Byline Times’ Adam Bienkov had been keeping a close eye on the case.
Here's how Rishi Sunak's spokespeople responded back in March when I asked why he had failed to publicly declare his wife's shareholding in a childcare agency his Government had handed subsidies to.

That integrity professionalism and accountability is going well.
Twitter wasn’t convinced.
1.
I don’t care whether he disclosed it…
I don’t care whether he registered it
I care that he launched a Govt policy designed to enrich his wife’s company with our money.
Our politics is rotten to its core.
It needs burning down & starting all over again. pic.twitter.com/8OwIaqhXzh

I inadvertently gave a ton of cash to a company that my wife has shares in. Tomorrow I will be inadvertently increasing poverty, demonising asylum seekers and wrecking the NHS.https://t.co/CoQA5Z52mn

Imagine if you or I did this? We wouldn’t get away with it.
Yet nothing happens.
His family also happened to make a billion dollar deal with BP just before he opened hundreds of licences for oil and gas drilling.
It’s disgusting.

Crikey!
As an epidemiologist, I know association isn’t causation, but being a Tory does seem strikingly linked to memory loss. https://t.co/1qtvp1Zyza— Dr John (@HonestDrJohn) August 24, 2023

Mike Cameron wondered if the pattern would continue.
Inadvertently attended a birthday party during lockdown.
Inadvertently rode in a car without a seatbelt.
Inadvertently failed to declare childcare interest.Couldn’t he just inadvertently call an election? https://t.co/6VM2gLW7ye
