Eddy Grant’s face being asked nonsense by Richard Madeley is all of us
You’ll already be painfully familiar with the resemblance between Alan Partridge and Richard Madeley, but the Good Morning Britain presenter surely doesn’t come much more cringeworthy than this.
It’s his interview with singer Eddy Grant on Tuesday’s edition of the ITV breakfast show, when the line of questioning went wrong on so many levels we don’t know where to start. And the look on Grant’s face surely speaks for all of humanity.

They should invite him back on when they’ve got a grown-up to present it.
And here are just a few of the things people were saying about it today.
Richard Madeley "interviewing" Eddie Grant was pure cringe.
Eddie looked so perplexed and offended.
Talking about being poor in Ghana and Ghana being oil rich now when Eddie is from Guyana, just bizarre.— That 90s Kid®️ (@R1cky_Rees) August 29, 2023
@GMB lovely to see Eddie Grant on TV this morning he looks so well. Note to Richard Madeley, the use of the word “dirt poor” is very disrespectful hence Eddie was visually offended. Poor is acceptable, but dirt poor? No, not acceptable.

Perhaps there are only 'oil-rich' interviews and 'dirt poor' interviews…‽
Or could that be oily rich interviewers and dirt poor interviewers‽
Or might it all be a bit more subtle‽

Look.
Your life is probably difficult & stressful enough without deliberately adding irritation & annoyance in the form of Richard Madeley first thing in the morning.
Turn it off.
You'll feel better.
The guy is a fatuous windsock with nothing new or interesting say anyway.— muttly (@muttlysaid) August 29, 2023
