A Tory MP highlighted the increase in people on sick benefit and Mick Lynch’s comeback was top drawer
Another day, another Mick Lynch comeback that had people cheering.
This time the trade union leader was on the BBC’s Politics Live where Conservative and former attorney general Geoffrey Cox highlighted the increase in number of people claiming sick benefit over the last few years.
And Lynch’s instant comeback was straight out of the top drawer.
Is he talking about long covid?
Geoffrey Cox, “In 2019 there were about 20,000 applications a month for health related benefits for people off work with sickness. In 2023 there are now over 50,000 a month”

Presumably related to Long Covid?
I nearly had coffee coming down my nose. Lynch is so quick with responses.

Much longer hospital waiting lists means more people are getting more ill. It’s simple. Treat people sooner and you’ll have fewer people needing help because they’re too ill to work.

Oh my goodness Lynch is brilliant

And in the spirit of ‘buy one, get one free’ Lynch did it again. On the same programme.
“If you believe the polls at the moment, we are sleepwalking into a one-party socialist state,” Sir Geoffrey Cox tells #PoliticsLive
“If only,” RMT Union General Secretary Mick Lynch replies

And also this!
